Silver coins are used in V Rising to buy a variety of items from merchants. Here's how to successfully find and use this currency.

Silver coins are a type of currency used in V Rising. As a vampire, you will take damage while holding too much silver, but it can also be used to trade with human merchants if you are disguised properly. These coins can be difficult to find at first, so we are here to help.

In this guide, we are going to take a look at how to get silver coins, as well as how to use them. Additionally, we are going to go over how to decrease the harmful effects of holding silver.

Silver coins are a bit rare, but there are still a few different ways to obtain them.

First, be sure to loot every chest that you see. There is a chance that chests may contain a few silver. While this isn't a lot, it's better than nothing. After looting chests for a while, you may build up a nice stash of silver coins.

Silver coins are more likely to appear in higher-leveled areas, such as the Silverlight Hills.

Silver ore and silver coins are two different items. You will not be able to turn the ore into coins.

Throughout the map, you will run into wandering merchants that offer a variety of goods for silver coins. Later, we will take a look at how to successfully trade with this merchant. Rather than trading, you can also kill them; upon death, this NPC will drop coins that you can take.

While holding silver coins and ore, you will get the 'Silver Sickness'. This is a debuff that deals damage over time, depending on how much silver you are holding. While this debuff is active, your screen will display a message saying that you are carrying silver, and the edges of your screen will glow white.

Fortunately, there are a few ways to deal with Silver Sickness; let's go over these methods below.

There are two different potions that you can take to reduce Silver Sickness, which are listed below alongside the necessary materials to craft them.

Both of these potions will last for 20 minutes. The brew is a little less effective, however, they are both great options if you are in a pinch.

Cloaks are great for providing resistance to a variety of effects, including Silver Sickness. We recommend using the Hunter's Cloak; the recipe for this cloak is learned after you defeat Beatrice the Tailor for the first time, who can be found in Dawnbreak Village.

This cloak will provide 15 silver resistance, and only requires six cotton yarn to make.

You will still take damage if you are holding a lot of silver for a long period of time. If you find it difficult to travel while holding large amounts of silver, we recommend tossing silver onto the ground for a few moments so you can gather your bearings.

Now that you have silver coins, let's take a look at how to use them.

The primary use of silver coins is to spend them at three merchants that can be found throughout the map. Prior to speaking with a merchant, you will first need to obtain Human Form. This is learned when you defeat Beatrice the Tailor, similar to the Hunter's Cloak.

This new form will let you disguise yourself as a human, but you will be unable to use any attacks. Additionally, you will consume blood quicker, meaning that you will need to feed sooner.

Once you have unlocked Human form, you can seek out one of the merchants.

First up, we have Gavyn the Shady Dealer. This merchant can be found wandering around Farbane Woods, walking the paths towards the southern end of the area. This includes the area stretching from the Bandit Copper Mine to the Bear Cave. Below, you can check out what Gavyn will sell.

Next, we have Berk the Traveling Trader. This merchant travels around the majority of Dunley Farmlands. He will pass by major areas, such as Dawnbreak Village, so you can wait nearby until he arrives.

Below, you can find each item this merchant will sell.

Lastly, we have Ottar the Merchant. This merchant does not have a set path; instead, you will always be able to find him in one location. On the map above, you can check out Ottar's permanent shop location in the Silverlight Hills.
