Audio-Technica has just announced a brace of new turntables designed to appeal to a whole new range of vinyl enthusiasts who have discovered the pleasure that their grandparents enjoyed back in the days before CDs and streaming.

The first new turntable is the AT-LP3XBT, Audio-Technica’s next-generation turntable that packs in 60 years of audio know-how and couples it with the latest Bluetooth technology for wirelessly streaming LPs. This new turntable offers all the benefits of vinyl but with the freedom of cable-free connection with speakers or headphones.

The AT-LP3XBT succeeds the award-winning AT-LP3 turntable and offers outstanding analog audio alongside upgraded features such as wireless compatibility with Qualcomm’s aptX audio codec and a factory-fitted AT-VM95C cartridge.

The Audio-Technica AT-LP3XBT has a switchable output for line level and phono.

The turntable is fully automatic and is belt-driven with speeds of 33 and 45RPM. In addition, the factory-fitted AT-VM95C cartridge is compatible with any VM95 Series replacement stylus, so the user can choose from a wide range to suit most budgets and applications.

The AT-LP3XBT is powered by an external AC adapter that handles the conversion from AC to DC outside the turntable, reducing any chance of interference in the signal chain. A balanced tonearm also features a hydraulically damped lift control and rest, plus an AT-HS3 universal headshell.

Audio-Technica has included a switchable phono and line level pre-amplifier with detachable dual RCA output cable and grounding wire for those who don't have an amplifier with a phono stage. The platter is an anti-resonance, die-cast aluminum design with a felt mat. The base construction has been damped to reduce the chances of low-frequency feedback coloration

Pricing & Availability: The Audio-Technica AT-LP3XBT is available now and costs £280 / €329 and is available in black or white finishes.

The new AT-LPW50BTRW from Audio-Technica is fitted with a high-performance black AT-VM95E Dual ... [+] Moving Magnet cartridge.

Audio Technica has also announced the AT-LPW50BTRW, the latest addition to the brand’s line of fully manual, belt-driven wooden turntables for those vinyl enthusiasts who want to spend a little more. This new turntable also offers a Bluetooth connection for streaming to speakers or headphones. Users can enjoy optimal high-fidelity audio reproduction from vinyl using a wired or wireless connection.

Audio-Technica has been making great phono cartridges for over half a century and has included a high-performance black AT-VM95E Dual Moving Magnet cartridge with the AT-LPW50BTRW. The cartridge is fitted with a 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus for high-fidelity performance. In addition, the cartridge is compatible with any VM95 Series replacement stylus making it easy to upgrade or replace the stylus at a price to suit.

Additional features on this turntable include an anti-resonance 30mm-thick MDF (medium density fibreboard) plinth with a rosewood-finished veneer. The plinth dampens low-frequency acoustical feedback. The turntable’s sensor-monitored motor ensures accurate rotation speeds of 33 and 45 RPM, while the straight carbon-fiber tonearm has adjustable tracking and a matching matte-silver AT-HS4 universal headshell. There’s also a built-in selectable phono preamp and detachable dual RCA output cable enabling direct-wired connection with an amplifier, with or without a dedicated phono input.

Pricing & Availability: The Audio-Technica AT-LPW50BTRW is available now and costs £419.99/ €499.
